Pedestrian Killed by Big-Rig Truck in San Francisco

On May 17, 2012 a horrible pedestrian accident claimed the life of a 45-year-old man. According to published reports, the victim has been identified as Sena Putra who recently immigrated to Oakland from Indonesia. This accident is another tragic reminder of the dangers facing Bay Area pedestrians.

The accident occurred at the intersection of 13th Street and Folsom in San Francisco. This dangerous intersection is located beneath the Highway 101 overpass. A San Francisco Police Department spokesman indicated that the victim was struck by a gasoline tanker big-rig truck which was making a right turn on to 13th Street. The victim was reportedly in a crosswalk when he was struck by the truck.
