Father and Daughter Killed After Being Struck by Motorist

The city of Concord is grieving following a tragic accident that occurred on April 7, 2012. A father and his two young daughters were riding their bicycles along Treat Boulevard when they were struck by an SUV. According to published reports, the driver of the SUV was speeding when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the family.

After the accident, the father and his 9-year-old daughter were pronounced dead at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The other 12-year-old daughter survived after suffering non-life threatening injuries. Police are investigating whether the 17-year-old driver of the SUV was using his cellphone or under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. At Matiasic Roth & Johnson LLP, our sincere condolences go out to the family of the victims. We hope that those who have lost their loved ones can find strength and peace in the face of this horrific tragedy.
