On February 12, 2012, a 77-year-old pedestrian suffered fatal injuries after being struck by car. The tragic accident occurred in San Jose near the intersection of Oakland Road and Rock Avenue. According to news reports, the victim is the fourth person to die in a traffic accident in San Jose since the beginning of the year, and the second pedestrian fatality of the weekend in San Jose. The other pedestrian fatality occurred on February 10, when a woman was killed after being struck by a car near the intersection of Meridian and West San Carlos Street.
